I gave her a new rubber toy with a squeaker, and she loves it. The only thing is she cries the entire time she plays with it. Could it be that the squeaker is hurting her ears? Between $500 to more. I got a teacup and he was $500 but the last owner paid $1000. And yes you are responsible for all vet care cost when he/she leaves the current owner. Unless you and them have a contract stating otherwise. I know that I am responsible for my dogs shots. I guess it depends on the breeder.

What is the number one christmas toy your child has asked for?
My daughter is 6 and although she wants many things - the only thing she has requested for Christmas is a "pretty barbie".



I think she is trying to be cost conscious which leaves me with mixed feelings of relief and sadness. ... Relief because I had a gift card that more than covered the price of a barbie. Sad because I don't want money to be an object when getting a present for my daughter. ... I am pretty sure that she would much rather have me take a week off of work and spend it with her.



Anyhow, a barbie is what my daughter requested and a barbie is what she will get. I also got her a doll that is almost as tall as her (48 inches) and will suggest books and littlest petshop pets when friends and relatives ask what she wants.
My daughter is 9 and my son is 7, and I think I have the most bizarre children ever because they haven't asked for ANYTHING. I've asked them repeatedly what they might want for Hanukkah, and all I get from them is "Whatever you pick out will be good." I guess I'm a good gift giver, or they just feel content with what they have. My 7 month old Dachshund does. It is a stuffed animal duck. She sometimes bites it and it looks like she is tryng to nurse on it. She sometimes even whines while doing this. It's so pitiful but I don't know why. I got her when she was exactly 2 monthes old (9 weeks).

She didn't start doing this until she was 5 monthes old.

my dog has a duck too, but instead of squeeking like a regular toy it quacks. she loves it and I think its her favorite but she doesn't really treat it that much differently than her other toys other than wanting to play with it more. My dog seems to like whichever toy is newest the best i think. I think maybe you should give your dog a new toy and see if she gives up the duck and likes the new toy better. I'm not quite sure if her wining while chewing on it is normal, but I'm sure its not indicating a bigger problem, its just weird lol.
Its normal! My dog does that, shes a standard black schnauzer and 3 years old. She has so many stuffed animals (she stole them from me, but i let her have them because i dont use them ha) that she carries in her mouth like they are her babies. But her favorite toy is this little puppy, and when you squeeze it it barks then pants then barks! She squeezes that thing like there is no tomorrow! But when i tell her to get her puppy, she goes and gets it! She is very smart and funny, she entertains the whole family! We had an ice day (rare for texas! :D) and i went outside with her and she just about slid right into the pool! haha

My dog has favorites, too. She has a lot of toys, but I only have 3 out for her at any given time. As they get "used" and traded for others, I put the "used" toys in a laundry basket, and when it has enough for a washer load I toss them all in, so every time I trade toys the "new" ones are clean. Clara is not destructive, but toys do take a lot of abuse, and they can be expensive, so I keep stitching them back together!

Yeah it's normal. My cocker spaniel does. He love to chew stuffed animals. I bought him a puppet and he loves it! Dogs love and need to chew to make their teeth stronger.

Those puppy pads a awful to use for training (and now you know from experience) because they are scented to make the dog want to go on them. But not every place they are allowed to pee (like outside) is going to smell like those pads, so it creates a bad association.



We are currently in the process of paper training our new puppy. There will be lots of people that will answer you to say "don't paper/litter train, just crate train them to go outside from the start", but we live in an apartment, and when puppies are little, not only do you not know what their "I have to pee" signs are, they barely know.



And being in an apartment, it's hard to rush a half-started pee or poo to get the dog through two sets of locking doors, down the stairs and get their leash on them, to get them outside in time. By the time you get out there they forget why you brought them. I know your pain!



We are paper training him by having him in a large pen and putting paper down in half of it, with enough room for his crate/bed to be far away from the litter box. also with paper in it. His bowls are in there too, also far away from the box, and there is plenty of play room. Now he goes in the box now, and we are slowly removing the extra paper from the floor.



Eventually it will just be paper in the box. He already goes consistently in the box, and we've only been at this for a day. It is just important to keep a very close eye on the puppy and when he looks like he is about to go pick him up and take him to the box. And then reward him with lavish praise when he goes in the right place.



Unfortunately because of those pads, you kind of have to start over with paper training, because that scent you puppy knows won't be there. But once they start using the box, you can start learning the puppies "I have to go" signals. Because our puppy is so little, it can't hold it in at all, so once he can hold it for even a couple of hours, we are going to start crate training him and taking him outside. Yes, this will slow down the housebreaking, but you know what's best for your puppy. Geez you don't want to have her doing " toileting" indoor, since she is already trained on pads, hard to re-train, What wrong with potty training OUTSIDE? all housebroken dogs do it outside. Dogs aren't cats. They shouldn't have to go potty in a litter box. If you take her outside to poo and pee, it shouldn't need a litter box. Instead of trying to litter train her, how about trying to housebreak her. Just keep a potty pad in the corner in case she has an accident. That's what I do with my puppy. What happens if you take your puppy into some else's home? She will probably think she can pee or poo where ever she wants in their home.
