my friends dog gave birth to a toy poodle that weighed 0.4 lbs. Is that a normal weight for a dog like this?How much does a toy poodle weigh at birth?
Usually toy poddles only weigh about 7 pounds or so, full grown, so I would things that .4 would be about right for a newborn puppy. It will double in size by week 2.

That is very normal. The smaller the breed the smaller the pups usually. Larger dogs have larger pups. Our boxers range anywhere from a pound to a pound and a half and they are a might size larger than a toy poodle :-)

Sounds about right. When My poodle had puppies you could hold each one in the palm of your hand. And they always pee on you.
