Google duh!
You can check http://www.akc.org/breeders/index.cfm.

You are going to get a lot of backlash about wanting a "teacup". Ignore the immature people.Does anyone know where i can get a teacup yorkie/toy in CA?
first of all why can't xolax figure out what CA means??? Screw the jerks and go find yourself a cute little puppy
Before you commit yourself, Just don't forget about the monthly groomings on long haired dogs. It gets quite expensive at $50 per month, not to mention daily brushouts at home. There is alot of work involved in yorkies.
Its not advisable to buy a teacup yorkie, they come with all sorts of ailments. Teacup Yorkies normally live to around 5yrs and have lots of health problems which can be very expensive.

I would suggest that you get you a yorkie that weigh in between 1.2kg to 2.5kg's. I would also suggest you read up more on yorkies and become more informed about this breed. Yorkies are not for everyone and are a very demanding breed. Also dont buy a yorkie from a petshop, not advisable at all. If you, immediately go to the vet to have the dog checked out for any diseases.

I have owned a number of yorkies, and they are adorable to have, the best breed of all dogs to have.

Its best to go to a reputable breeder that can ensure a healthy breed of yorkies which will come with full health certificates and registered papers too. Unfortunately, I live in South Africa and only know reputable breeders here.

But you can visit this website which is very informative on yorkies and should help you with alot of questions.

Website: Yorkshire Terrier - the free wikipedia encyclopedia. All the best!
There is no such thing as a "teacup" anything. Dogs are meant to be breed to standard (AKC). The only reason to breed a dog is for the betterment of the breed. To breed them as close to standard as possible. So when these irresponsible backyard breeders are trying to sell their runts as teacups and the public are buying these sickly puppies amazes me.

Don't fall for it. You would be buying a dog that resembles a yorkie but definitely not up to standard. You would be buying a ill-bred, mostly likely sickly pup from a backyard breeder that's breeding his dogs as money making puppy machines.
"Teacup" is a term used by irresponsible breeders in order to scam money out of people who don't realize it means "sickly, poorly bred runts".
There aren't people who breed teacup anything... Legitimately.. You can find those dogs in the shelter tho. If you support puppymills you support the killing of dogs !

Puppymill is anyone who breeds for pure profit. WIthout regard to health, temperament, correct structure. People who breed mixed breed dogs for

profit. People who allow puppies to go to homes

before 8 weeks of age. People who produce puppies to be sold in petstores. People who breed

their unregistered pets for profit. People who breed their registered pets for selfish reasons.. Don't support puppymills..
when you say "CA" it could mean a few things. . . please be more specific!!!
There are mostly dog lovers on here, we care deeply about the welfare of dogs, so when you mention a "teacup" anything, you are going to get a lot of flack.

By now you know there is not such thing as a teacup yorkie - just yorkies bred too small by unscrupulous back yeard breeders who don't breed to standard, but rather want to sucker gullible people. A dog bred only for size is likely sick, weak, and has lots of health problems.

Why don't you do a search for a yorkie rescue in your area and adopt one already grown, that way you will know how big the dog will get, what the temperament is, and what it looks like.

You will see what you get and save a life too.

Get a book on the breed while you are at it, it will help you be a good dog owner. Please consider rescue, breeders just contribute to the dog overpopulation and there are many pedigree dogs out there, homeless through no fault of their own, who would love to find a good home with you.

Good luck, I hope you find the dog that touches your heart and bonds with you completely, it's a wonderful thing.
Teacup's are a myth it is what the breeder say runt of the litters are, they say that so it sounds nicer, just becareful with the breeder you choose. A true breeder will not classify their pups a tea cups.
here's a couple of breeders in cali

There are places that you can call to find this answer. The ASPCA or the animal shelter will have information. Did you know that you can get on a list at either of these two places and you will be notified if one is available.
