Basicly they take the smallest of each breed to get breed smaller and smaller dogs, do you think this is right. Why do you think so and why do you think it is that way?Who believes in minamizing standard breeds and refering to them as toy or miniature?
No it's not right. It usually leads to severe health problems in the animal, and it usually drastically shortens their life span. Smaller animals tend to be weaker animals in a species, so when you continuasly breed these weaker, smaller animals, you are creating an even more fragile and weak animalWho believes in minamizing standard breeds and refering to them as toy or miniature?
Well they do live longer. The standard poodle only lives like 12 years while the toy one can live up to 20.Who believes in minamizing standard breeds and refering to them as toy or miniature?
I dont think its right they also dont look as good i think plain breeds are better
Depends on your definition of right.
At this point in time, NO ONE should be breeding. I don't care if you're a world-renowned breeder with fifty billion dollars and every dog you've ever shown has one every single show, first place.
No one should be breeding. The dogs in shelters need to be adopted first.
If the situation was different, like if shelters were less packed, I think it'd be fine. Some people that love the larger breeds, but just don't have the room for them can enjoy the breed in a smaller package. The "toy" Siberian husky (Alaskan Klee Kai) is adorable, carries on all the same traits as its 'original copy', but its sized and suited for apartment life.
I disagree with the teacup and micro mini crap though. Making a dog compact is one thing, but making it unhealthy and prone to death is another.
I think as long as they are at a healthy size, and retain the original breed standards, its okay. Like the Miniature Australian Shepherd, it looks spot on the Australian Shepherd, but weighs fifteen to twenty pounds less. But its still a healthy size and isn't prone to injury. It can carry out the duties assigned as well (if not better) than the standard, but its just pint sized.
