Does my dog like to play tug of war or does she just want her toy back?

She's a 3 year old cocker spaniel and she loves to play. Being chased, running around. She has lots of fluffy toys. Sometimes i play tug of war with her and she shakes her head and growls. Does she like to play tug of war or does she just want her toy?Does my dog like to play tug of war or does she just want her toy back?

Naa she likes it. Its a challenge, my dacshund does it too and i let go after a bit of tugging and say like ok u won dat time

it depends but most likely she just like the challenge of tug of war. my dog for example will bring the toy to me and kind of wave the toy in front of me so i can try and tug it from him, just cause he wants to see if hes stronger than me
Most likely tug-o-war! My GSD loves to play t-o-w! I always win though, I want him to be sure who the alpha-male is! But then I throw it :) He loves fetch even more.

i have a maltese/shihtzu and he does that aswell, whenever i pull a toy from his mouth he growls and shakes his head, i think he's just playing around because he doesn't get aggressive or anything. i guess it's something dogs do when they're playing?
