I want to train her to stop being so obsessed over the darn toy!Is it all right for me to just suddenly take away a toy my dog is playing with?
I have an obsessed dog as well. lol When I just can't stand to play with the darn thing anymore, I just try to distract her from it. Maybe with a small treat or another toy or something. It is kind of mean to just take it away. Some dogs are just obsessed with the weirdest things. You can't train them off of it. As long as they aren't putting themselves in danger by tearing the toy up to pieces they can swallow...its best to let them have their hobby. Good luck!
That is AWESOME! Yes, please, do so! The less OCD dogs in this world, the better! Now that you have the toy, hide it and make her calm down!Is it all right for me to just suddenly take away a toy my dog is playing with?
You should be able to take a toy away at any time, you should be the head of the household; toy obsession is a serious issue, I would either make scheduled play time with a toy she is not obsessed with or see a behaviorist about the issue.
It's perfectly fine to abruptly take away a toy from a dog. It's your house and your stuff, you're just allowing them to live and play there. A well trained dog will have no qualms about giving up anything to you.Is it all right for me to just suddenly take away a toy my dog is playing with?
yes
NO!
you should not
dogs are just like kids.
they also like playing and having fun
so i suggest to give it back her.
