My daughter is 6 months old and the same way. I bought her a little paino thingy today and so far she has been happy with it!
We gave our son an old wireless keyboard - so far he hasn't slapped any keys off. We also bought him a cheap "learning laptop" - less for the learning (he's 15 months) than for the keys.My son loves the computer keyboard, any similar toy ideas?
He might like an instrument like a small drum or something.
toy piano
you might start him on the road to loving music. My son loves the computer keyboard, any similar toy ideas?
As long as the keys don't easily pop out a real keyboard is fine. My daughter got a nice wireless one that we lost the receiver for (it's a really nice keyboard, she has the nicest one!). Normally you have to pry the keys up to get them off. If this applies to a keyboard you have or can get then that's okay. Even if he were to manage to get one off I assume you'd be watching him.
Ah! My 11 month old son is the same way! He absolutely loves the keyboard and watching the screen do whatever when he smacks the keys. I haven't found a toy that even comes close!
You are right though, don't give him an old one because he'll pull the keys off and it's definitely a choking hazard. I tried giving my son an old laptop we had and he even managed to get those keys off.
Good luck!
