Where can I buy a healthy/affordable toy breed dog in VA?

I'm looking for a toy breed that is considered low shed for allergy sufferers I even like mixes like Brichon-Yorkies or Cocka poos Why are they soo expensive though?Where can I buy a healthy/affordable toy breed dog in VA?
Try going to rescue websites for the breed you like. Almost every breed has a website for rescued dogs. The cost is very economical because the dog doesn't have papers.. Many are adults, but sometimes you can get puppies, too. Sometimes they are full-blooded, sometimes they are a mix. Do an online search for the breed's name plus "rescue". Another plus to these sites, is that they usually have had the animal completely checked over, gotten them up to date on their shots, and have made sure they are sociable pets.Where can I buy a healthy/affordable toy breed dog in VA?
Whatever you do -- DO NOT BUY FROM A PET SHOP! Puppies in pet shops come from puppy mills -- for more info google puppy mills. Also, mix breeds that are considered "designer" dogs are expensive bc they are a rip off... there are tons of "designer" dogs in animal shelters all over. Be very careful when purchasing a puppy, try to find a reputable breeder, one that will allow you into their home to meet the puppies parents (or at least the mother) one that does CERF testing on the eyes, and OFA on the hips (google those for more info). There are so many bad people out there breeding dogs for money... try to do a lot of research and make an informed decission.

Good luck.Where can I buy a healthy/affordable toy breed dog in VA?
If you want a non-shedding dog, don't buy a cross. You have no idea what their coat type will end up like. For example, a cocker crossed with a poodle, you make get a curly poodle type coat that doesn't shed but you may also get a straighter cocker type coat that sheds a lot.

The only real non shedding breeds are Poodles, Schnauzers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Kerry Blues, Havanese and the Coton.

Do some research on these breeds and find a reputable breeder. Just remember: you get what you pay for!
try your local animal shelter, also try petfinder.com. there are resuce groups for pure bred dogs also. don't breed or buy while shelter animals die. you can save a life and also have the perfect companion!!
