Is it just it is his favourite toy and he thinks that it is his friend?? But its very funny to watch !!Why does my cat keep putting his toy mouse in his food bowl?
Lol am not sure y e does it but its sooo cute xxx
\I was going to say (in the nicest way possible) that maybe it's because he considers it as food and knows that the bowl is where his food stays but after reading more detail it seems its like a comfort thing. He doesn't like eating without it, he feels as if its a safety barrier, as if its a friend.
You know like young kids have blankets and/or teddies that they cant sleep without. Why does my cat keep putting his toy mouse in his food bowl?
Mouse flavor ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
awww thats adorablle..just let him do it if he likes it..its not hurting him soWhy does my cat keep putting his toy mouse in his food bowl?
thinks its food or could be the cats safe place
Cats are predatory animals. Your cat is "catching" this toy and putting in his food bowl for you, as a gift. If your cat was allowed outside, he'd probably leave you birds, mice, and other rodents as gifts at your front door.
Cats (and dogs) want nothing more than to please you.
he can still eat and watch his toy at the same time - my dog does this as well
ah bless
he is sharing his food
he wont eat it all till he knows his "friend" has had some
this is lovely
When I saw your question headline I had planned to say 'so he knows where it is' but now it looks as though it's his friend - as you say. Our cats sometimes put non-food items in their bowls but it doesn't make any difference to the amount they eat! We'd always assumed it was so they didn't lose them.
ha ha ha! he's puzzled, poor lad. but then again if he's eating, why not?
